Gentle Nutrition is Available for Preorder!

I am thrilled to share that my new book, Gentle Nutrition, is now available for preorder!

Gentle Nutrition has been a labor of love this past year. I’ve worked my butt off researching and writing, and while this book has definitely been a source of tears and sleepless nights, working on it has also been a welcome distraction during a really, really tough year. I’ve felt a bit teary-eyed every time I’ve shared the news somewhere new!

I decided to write Gentle Nutrition because I was frustrated with how diet culture had infiltrated nutrition and wellness. There’s a lack of evidence-based resources on nutrition (for both the general public and for dietitians!) that don’t operate under the belief that the goal of engaging with nutrition should be weight loss or management. What does healthy eating look like from a non-diet perspective?

I get a chance to explore the answer to this question with my clients in a one-on-one setting, and while there are lots of resources on intuitive eating and Health at Every Size, there are no books that delve into food and nutrition science with more depth. Because of that, and because it’s really hard to talk about nutrition with adequate nuance on social media or in a blog post, it makes non-diet nutrition a bit of a mystery. With Gentle Nutrition, I hope to make non-diet nutrition accessible to more people!

Gentle Nutrition explores realistic, positive and sustainable ways to help you better nourish your body. In it, I discuss not only nutrition science, but the psychology of behavior change to help give you tools for nurturing healthier habits. And because I am a big believer that nutrition is just one of many aspects of health, it also seeks to take nutrition off its pedestal so you can chill out about food a bit. Yes, I wrote a book about nutrition that’s also about how nutrition isn’t the end all, be all of health!

Also, because y’all know I love cooking and recipes, Gentle Nutrition includes 50 brand new recipes that demonstrate how to incorporate nutrition in a flexible way that honors pleasure first. Here’s a sneak peek:
